Brando Lakes

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist

Brando grew up in Joshua Tree, California, where he hiked and played sports. His journey to become a physical therapist began after seeing his mother’s fitness transformation after receiving physical therapy for a fractured ankle.

Brando left California to attend Columbia University’s Physical Therapy program in 2014. After graduating, he worked at a number of private outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia. Upon discovering the faults in our healthcare system, Brando created Lakes PT to deliver care to the people who need it most. Brando is also an active member of his alma mater, returning to Columbia University’s Physical Therapy program as a teaching assistant and keynote speaker.

When Brando isn’t helping others, he enjoys painting, solving puzzles, and going outdoors with his wife (also a physical therapist) and son.

People I commonly help include:

  • Adults with back, hip, shoulder, or knee pain
  • Runners and active adults dealing with injury or overuse
  • Post-surgical patients rebuilding strength and mobility
  • Older adults improving balance and stability
  • Anyone who wants to move better and stay active for life

Why I built a different kind of PT clinic

Too many clinics rush people through care, rely on assistants, or treat multiple patients at once. That environment never felt right.

Kines Physical Therapy was created to give patients the opposite experience --so used, thoughtful, and genuinely patient-centered. When you're here, you're the only priority in the room.
