Eat Your Vegetables for Movement Independence
===
Speaker: [00:00:00] Eat your vegetables.
Sometimes I get a patient who comes in phone in hand with a video that they want to show me, and in this video there's a 20 something year old who is doing an exercise or a workout. That a 20 something year old should have no problem doing.
The problem is the person showing me the video is in their sixties or seventies and they haven't done that exercise or workout in years, and they tell me that's what they want to do.[00:01:00]
And I tell them, what you see in that video is candy, and you will not be getting any of that here. See, broccoli may not taste as great as ice cream, but you'll keep your toes. And that's what's going to help you to walk and go up and down stairs with ease. I am aware that the exercises that I prescribe or give may not be fun or sexy, but they will give you independence.
If you want to continue playing sports [00:02:00] or playing with your grandchildren or children, you are going to want to eat your vegetables.
Also, it's not the things that we do every once in a while that gives us the long lasting strength. It's the things that we do consistently.
I. That help us
to perform with ease, the things that we do every once in a while.
If you are struggling with doing the boring stuff or eating your vegetables. Head on over to kinesmovement.com so I can help [00:03:00] and tell them, take ownership of your movement. Do more, wait less. I'll see you on the next one.
